Sunday night we put up and decorated our Christmas tree. It looks great! All those ornaments Aunt Pam has given me each year certainly helped a lot; we didn't have to use ANY extra bulbs! Piper loves the tree when it's all lit up, she just stares at the lights. She finally said "Da Da" yesterday among her babbles, but unfortunately Daddy wasn't home to hear it. Things are getting very hectic around here. Mommy is working at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 4 nights a week until the 22nd. And we have lots of parties to go to on the weekends. Busy, busy!

All Bundled Up
It's pretty chilly today in Florida and it's very windy too making it much worse. Mommy had to run to the store to get a few things for Thanksgiving dinner. Since we're all fighting colds in this house, we had to make sure we were bundled extra well when we left! Here's Piper wearing her winter coat, hat and mittens for the first time (all gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Smith)!

Self-Feeding
Piper has been working very hard at feeding herself some finger foods. She's getting very good at it. In these pictures she's eating banana puffs, they dissolve in your mouth. She loves them!

"chewing" it up
Piper had another visit to the doctor yesterday. She was coughing a lot and was very stuffy. Both Mommy and Daddy have been fighting colds, so Mommy called the doctor to see if there was any cough and cold medicine that Piper could have. The doctor said to bring her in. There's some very serious viruses going around right now, so he didn't want to take any chances. But she's ok, it's just a common cold. She's got some nose drops and some cough medicine. For now she'll be a little fussy and a little miserable, but she'll be back to normal in no time!

Playhouse Disney Piper
Certain TV shows on the Disney Channel are called Playhouse Disney Shows. They are for the youngest of Disney watchers. Playhouse Disney is very special to Mommy and Daddy! Daddy was often a puppeteer for the Playhouse Disney Live Show at MGM when he was still in entertainment. And Mommy is very good friends with JoJo, Goliath, Pooh, Stanley and the newest Playhouse members; June, Quincy and Leo. When Mommy and Daddy were dating, Daddy bought Mommy a stuffed Ojo. Ojo is from "Bear in the Big Blue House." And before Piper was born, Mommy and Daddy bought a gender neutral Playhouse Disney outfit in the smallest size they had. It finally fits Piper! Mommy introduced Piper to Ojo too!

Six Months Old
Piper is changing so much everyday! She had another appointment with Dr. Britton and Mommy got to take her this time. She's now 13lbs 8oz and 24 in long. That is small for her age, but Dr. Britton is not worried about it, since she is still continuing to grow and develop at her projected rate. She had a bit of eye irritation and was prescribed some eye drops to help clear it up. She got 4 of her usual vaccines and also a flu shot. She was a little trooper and screamed for just a minute until I could pick her up. She's starting to have a bit of stranger anxiety which is normal for her age. She loves her solid foods and Dr. Britton gave the ok for some dissolving finger foods, and she loves those already. She is practicing sitting up by herself and is doing a very good job. She sits alone in a lap with no problem. The floor gives her a little bit of trouble, but she's getting better. She'll be crawling at any moment, but for now she gets around by rolling everywhere. She's very good at wiggling to get toys that are out of her reach. If she drops something she looks for it and then tries to get it back. If you have something, she wants it... she grabs for everything now. She loves to explore every new object by tasting it. When she wants to be held she reaches out for you and she screams if you leave the room. She babbles alot and has said Mama a few times, but Daddy won't admit it. She likes to blow razzberries and will giggle if you do it back to her. Piper is learning new things everyday and we'll continue to share each discovery with you!

Happy 6 Month Birthday Piper!
Piper has made it 1/2 way to one year! She is 6 months old! We took her on her first trip to Magic Kingdom for a day of fun. She rode It's a Small World and Aladdin's Magic Carpets. She saw the new castle show, Dream Along With Mickey, twice. And she also got to see the new parade. She saw Wishes for the first time and was much better than the last time she saw fireworks. She got to meet 3 fellow princesses; Snow White, Cinderella and Belle. Here she is giggling with Belle.

Happy Halloween!
Last night Piper got dressed up for Halloween. Mommy and Daddy did too. Only 2 trick-or-treaters came to our door before we left. We went trick-or-treating to Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house and next door to Randy and Tina's. Piper carried her trick-or-treat bag that Mommy decorated. She had a great first Halloween!
