Self-Feeding with a Spoon

Last Saturday at lunch time, Piper decided to take the spoon out of Daddy's hand and feed herself. She did a very good job. We got some pictures of her doing it yesterday. She has trouble scooping the food out of the bowl. But if you put the food on the spoon for her, she'll take the spoon from you and feed herself! She's becoming a big girl!

Piper's First Trip to the Beach

Yesterday we spent the day at Cocoa Beach. Piper enjoyed playing in the sand and splashing in the water. She was a little unsure of the waves though. It was very windy, so Mommy didn't notice that her back was getting burnt. Piper was fine though, she was slathered in sunscreen and kept under a towel when she wasn't in the water. And it did rain a little bit, but just some sprinkles for less than 5 minutes, so it didn't ruin the day! We had lots of fun!

Yesterday was the Dolphins first "big game," even though it was only a preseason game. So Piper decided she needed to sport her Dolphins gear! So we had to get some pictures of her and Daddy threw on his jersey to take a few pics with her.

15 Month Check-up

Yesterday was Piper's 15 month check-up. Daddy took her this time. He said she was pretty good for the most part. He said she seemed to remember where they were from last time and she freked out a few times. She now weighs 17lbs 4oz and is 27 3/4 in tall. That's about 2lbs and 2ins growth since last appointment. She onlt got 2 shots and next time might not need any at all. She's doing very well walking on her own and she's starting to learn how to stand up on her ownn without holding on to anything. She's growing so quickly! Last week I peeked in on her in her crib when I got home from work and she just looked so big to me. She was all sprawled out and taking up so much space. Our little baby isn't a baby anymore! She's a toddler now!

First Steps!

Yesterday Piper was practicing standing on her own all day long! She was doing real well, up to 30-40 seconds on her own. She's been practicing that for quite some time, but yesterday that was all she wanted to do. Standing was better than any toy I could have given her. Well, when Daddy got home, we decided to show him how good Piper was doing. And she took a step towards him. Which has happened before; one step and then plop onto her butt. But this time she took another and another. About 4 steps in all until she had made it all the way to Daddy! We were so surprised and so proud of her! We'll try to get some video or pictures of it tonight.

Visiting Emile!

Yesterday Mommy was very good friends with Emile... the big fat rat from the new Disney movie Ratatouille. So Daddy and Piper decided to visit Emile and Remy. Piper liked the rats and smiled when they sniffed her looking for food and kissed her head!

Encore!

Encore! is a choir and orchestra for Disney cast members. This year was the 5th anniversary of the show and included a 75 piece orchestra and 160 in the choir. Ryan has participated in every show (except last year's because of Piper being born so close to the auditions). It's something Ryan has really enjoyed doing. It is an incredible show and so entertaining!
