Yesterday Grandma Smith babysat so that Mommy could work some extra hours. Grandpa bought Piper a bouncer to use when she's there, so that she can sit somewhere instead of always having to lay around. After work we took Piper for her first swim. She seemed to like it. She screamed when we got out, but it was because we couldn't get the towel on her fast enough. Grandma made us a great meatloaf dinner that we ate when we were done swimming and then we headed home to watch So You Think You Can Dance.

Dr. Appointment
Yesterday was Piper's 2nd appointment with Dr. Britton and her first round of vaccinations. Daddy took her and said that for the most part she was very good. She peed on the scale, but made up for it by only screaming for a minute when she got her shots. She is now 10 lbs 10 oz and 22 in long. Dr. Britton said she is progressing very well. She has had a few side effects from the vaccinations; slight fever, fussiness, drowsiness and last night; a lack of appetite. All of these side effects are perfectly normal, but hopefully they'll wear off soon.

Pretty Piper
Piper is growing so quickly. She loves smiling back at you when you smile at her. She's starting to grasp toys and loves to put them in her mouth. She's been sleeping around 7 hours each night in her cradle. We've tried putting her in her crib at night a couple times, but she only lasts 3-4 hours in there. So she's been napping in the crib during the day so she can get used to it. She loves the mobile, and so far seems to like the crib. We'll try it at night again real soon!

Happy 4th of July!
Piper's first holiday was the 4th of July. We celebrated by watching the fireworks at Epcot. We sat in the Cantina at Mexico... one of the best places to watch from! The fireworks were regular Illuminations plus a 15 minute tag to patriotic music. Aunt Susan, Uncle Jeff, Mickey and Amy came too. Piper had lots of fun. She sat and watched the fireworks in awe!
