Friday December 8, 2006

Daddy took piper to a Christmas party at his work. It was for all of the families. Santa gave her an early Christmas present in person... a pull-along Pluto. When Santa left, Piper decided to see how comfortable his chair was.

Holiday Cookies

Tonight was cookie night. Mommy made the cookies this afternoon and baked them this evening. Then Daddy helped to ice and decorate them. We hope that when Piper is older, she will enjoy helping to decorate them too. Here are pictures of most of them (most of the plain ones were already put away) and close-ups of our favorites.

Holiday Photo Shoot

Back in early November, we shot our pictures for our holiday cards. We decided that the Disney hotels would be the best places to go. We started out at the Polynesian, then took the monorail to the Grand Floridian and then the Contemporary. Our friend Brandy is an aspiring photographer, and offered to take the photos for us. She took close to 500 shots. They all came out so great that it was very hard to choose the best one. Now that the cards have been sent out, we thought we'd share some of our other favorites with you. Thank you so much Brandy!

Happy 7 Month Birthday Piper!

Piper is changing so much. She is no longer growing as much physically, but she is growing so much mentally everyday. She is VERY vocal. She sings, talks to herself, her toys and of course, Mommy and Daddy. She has almost perfected sitting up by herself on any surface. She can feed herself finger foods (like dissovling fruit and veggie puffs or crackers) without any problem. She is on the verge of crawling at any time now, and walking probably won't be too far behind. She practices standing holding onto the couch, Mommy or Daddy's hands, and her music table. She likes to play in her exersaucer and has learned how to turn herself around in it. She can pass any object from hand to hand and can even hold small objects with a pincer grip (between thumb and fore finger). She has a lot of separation anxiety right now and a little bit of stranger anxiety. Both are very common and normal for her age. She is very excited for the upcoming holidays, as are we!

Christmas Around the World

Yesterday Mommy, Daddy and Piper went to Epcot. We met up with Lisa & Dante and Mikki & Cami too. First we went to the Living Seas to ride the new Nemo and Friends ride. It was very cute and Piper loved it. Next we headed to the countries on a mission to meet Santa. We stopped and watched Papa Noel in Canada and then watched the Showcase Players in the UK. When we got to American Adventure, we watched the Hannukah Storyteller, who happened to be our friend, Dorah. Then we listened to the Voices of Liberty sing their Christmas Carols. After that we were all getting hungry. We went into Liberty Tavern for a bite and to see the big gingerbread house. Now it was finally time to meet Santa... and Mrs. Clause too. As we were leaving American Adventure, the Kwaanza Storyteller was starting his show, another friend of ours, Mark, so we stopped to listen there as well. We walked the rest of the way around the world, stopping at Norway to watch one more Storyteller. We had such a fun day!
