Working

So after reading Rusty's comment I realized I should probably explain the work situation for this time around. First let me tell you about last time. I was a full time character when we found out Piper was on the way. I was around 4 months along when I decided I no longer could be in costume. Since I was full time they found me a new "sitting" location to work at. I was the entertainment scheduling receptionist. So, I was able to work right up until the day before Piper was born. This time, I am a part time character. So, when I can no longer be in costume this time around I have to take medical leave. And again, since I am part time I won't be able to collect short-term disability like I did last time (during that medical leave OR after I have the baby). So the plan for now is that I will take my medical leave around Octoberish, which is when places should be starting to hire for seasonal holiday help. I'll get a job as a cashier or something in a retail location and about the time when they no longer need me for holiday help, it'll be almost time to have the baby! So it should work out perfect. Ryan is looking for an additional job now because; 1) We need the extra income right now 2) Chances are, wherever I find a seasonal job, will be a pay cut and we'll need to supplement it 3) when I can no longer work, we still need the income I am currently making. So Ryan has applied at a couple places (Target and WalMart) for an overnight stocking position. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that everything works out as well as we are hoping it will.

12 weeks...

...and not showing yet. As of today I am 12 weeks along. Now that I'm starting the second trimester I can't wait for the nausea to stop! Other than that, everything is great. We're starting to plan for what's going to happen when I can no longer do characters. And we're beginning to start stocking up on formula and small sized diapers!

Piper's Big Mess

We had our frequent visit from Grandma(Hoffman and Grandpa Stevie. It was a nice quiet weekend, until Piper went to take her nap on earlier today. Shortly after she went down for her nap, Grandpa went to take a shower and shortly after, Daddy went to take his shower. As Daddy cme back out to the living room, he oveheard Grandpa asking Puper if she was supposed to be up yet. She was still "sleepy", so she went back into her room to go back to sleep. Daddy and Granpa watched some tv and Grandma went in to get ready. Daddy soon fell asleep, of course, and Grandpa was dzing off too. Piper eventually came out of her room, and came into the living room. Daddy woke up to Piper saying POTTY! and she had already took her diaper off (we always put her back into her diaper when she goes down to sleep). She went into the bathroom just as Grandma was coming out and Daddy came in to clean Piper up after the potty. Well... Daddy went into Piper's room to throw her diaper into the 'Genie" and saw this....

Needless to say, Daddy was a bit upset, and so were Grandma and Grandpa. Piper spent about 30 minutes on the Naughty Spot. She did not move and she faced the door the entire time. Every couple minutes, Daddy came by to ask Piper if she knew why she was on the spot. She kept saying "clothes" and "closet". Shortly after Daddy let her of the naughty spot, Piper came over to sit with Daddy, she said sorry a few times, hugged Daddy, and then fell asleep in his arms. Daddy thinks (and really hopes) that Piper has learned her lesson and will not do this ever again...especially because her sibling will be joining in a couple of months.

Light the Night

In September I will be participating in the Light the Night Walk at Lake Eola to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My friend, Lizz, created Team Beat It in memory of her friend Chris Sawyer who passed away in 2006 at the age of 24 from Lymphoma. I will be walking, in memory of my Aunt/Godmother, Angela Lorence. Please take the time to look at my donation website and consider making a donation. I will be grateful for any donation you can make no matter the amount! If you know anyone else that may be interested in contributing, please pass along my website. You can contribute online using a credit card and it is completely safe. But if you do not feel comfortable, you can always give me cash or a check and I can enter the donation into the system by hand! Thanks in advance!

Sonogram #1

Today was our first "official pregnancy appt." I'm 9 weeks and 3 days along right now and our first sonogram was consistent with that. The sonogram thankfully shows only one little monkey in there. Everything else was pretty normal and routine.

Big Girl Underpants!

Piper has been doing very good with the potty! For the past few weeks she has been wearing her training pants all day and only putting a diaper on for naps, bedtime or to go out somewhere. So yesterday we took her to Target to let her pick out some big girl underpants. She wanted the princess ones and was so excited to wear them today. While we were out yesterday, we also let her wear her training pants instead of a diaper. And she did great with that too. We brought along an extra outfit and some diapers just in case, but she didn't have a single accident!
